What is Alpha Projects?

I've kept a running list of project ideas since I bought my first iPhone. When I'm looking to start a new project, I'll scroll through years of thoughts. Some ideas are laughably terrible. Others have since been realized by others (hello vegan fast food!).

In the final days of 2020, I revisited my list and found "alpha projects." The idea was to take the 52 weeks of the year and divide them into 26 two-week sprints that corresponded with the letters of the alphabet. From there, I commit to doing a project related to a word that starts with the corresponding sprint’s letter. Each project concludes with a write-up with the following: Definition, Illustration, Inspiration, Creation, and Reflection. Newsletter subscribers also receive a bonus “Connection(s)” section.

The format encourages me to create and share in public while learning from and connecting with others along the way.

Why subscribe?

You’ll get full access to the newsletter which includes bonus content not found on the website. What does “bonus content” look like? In a lot of cases, it’s a curation of new and joyful things that I often would share inefficiently through texts to friends.

As a subscriber, you’re the first to preview the word associated with the next project. This means you can influence the project’s direction and contributions. Pretty cool, eh?

Every two weeks, I choose a new word alphabetically as the theme for a project. Follow along or join in collaborating!
